Consent and the rights to create a copy
An AI copy involves the likeness and voice of a real person, so it can only be created with consent and the proper rights.
Consent given in life
The ideal case is when the person agreed to a copy during their lifetime. This is the cleanest option from an ethical point of view.
Family consent
A posthumous copy requires confirmation of the steward's rights and the family's consent. The service will not enable a copy without this.
The right to change your mind
Consent is not forever: the family can pause or delete the copy at any time. Control stays with people, not with the technology.
Disputed situations
If the family does not agree, it is better to postpone creating the copy until loved ones are at peace with it. A person's likeness concerns everyone who loved them. Respect for differing feelings matters more than the technical ability.
- Ideally - consent given in life.
- For a posthumous copy - rights and family consent.
- Without confirmation, no copy can be enabled.
- The right to change your mind at any time.
